The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread
The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread: A Novel | Don Robertson
2 posts | 5 read | 8 to read
On a quiet autumn afternoon in 1944, nine-year-old Morris Bird III decides to visit a friend who lives on the other side of town. So he grabs the handle of his red wagon and, with his little sister in tow, begins an incredible pilgrimage across Cleveland . . . and out of childhood forever. Set against the backdrop of one of the worst industrial disasters in American history, Don Robertson's enduring, beloved masterwork is a remarkable story of destiny, bravery, and responsibility, as fresh and relevant as when it first appeared in print.

This is the stack I'm taking with me to book club tonight as suggestions for next month. Which one would you choose?

Suzze Our book group read The Miniaturist and had a good discussion as there were differing opinions. 7y

Pickpick

When Boston played Cleveland in Fenway, I thought it would be great to get a chant started: "your river caught on fire." That's harder to get going than The Wave though, and after SLICED BREAD, I don't have the heart to taunt Cleveland. #2015top5
