It used to be that I obsessed over Ares Hidalgo from afar. But that was before he climbed Through My Window Raquel lvarez is hard working and serious about her future. Its always just been her and her mom and thats kept Raquel on the straight and narrow. After all, shes only got one goalto become a psychologist. Well, that and to get Ares Hildago to notice her. For as long as Raquel can remember, she has been obsessed with Aresknown to everyone as the rich, hot, popular playboy. Even though he lives next door, Raquel has never spoken to Ares. Yet, she cant help thinking theres more to him . . . and she cant help imagining what itd feel like to kiss him. After a chance encounter reveals her crush is anything but unrequited, their steamy attraction grows into what can only be described as hands-down hot. They fall hard and fast for one another. Raquel is all in with Ares. But Ares cant, or wont, commit, as his struggle with personal and family responsibilities leaves little room for falling in love. The will-they-wont-they tension is killing her and it may just kill what they have. What burns bright burns fast, but for Ares and Raquel, can it last?

Mehso-so

I‘ve had this book on my TBR since I found out there was a movie. I decided to go ahead and read it and it was good. However, there were several times when I read something and it just made me cringe. Also, the two characters at the beginning were toxic AF. About halfway through the book I started to enjoy it more. I‘m glad I stuck with it.

Now, I'm ready to watch the movie. Even though it's available in Spanish, I'll watch it in English just because I read it that way. I think it'll make sense & I'll be able to relate it with what I just read.
Does it makes sense? I don't know, I'll just watch it and see. I'll update in the comments with my critique, after I watch.

Has anyone read or watched?

WJCintron UPDATE:
I watched it. 😔😭
Rotten Tomatoes 26%
IMDB 5.5

My honest thoughts:
Cons:
The movie was SO BADLY adapted. What a disappointment. This has to be one of the worst adaptations I‘ve ever seen since Bird Box, if not the worst. It was like I was watching a completely different story. I know firsthand how things get cut & that a lot changes while filming a movie, BUT when you rush the story to the point you compromise the essence of it, (MORE)

WJCintron it doesn‘t work. The characters need development in order for us to feel for them. The movie lacked all of that. They changed a lot, including the ending & the character‘s struggles within their “relationship”. The way he behaved towards her, which in the end affected their development. (MORE)

WJCintron Pros:
Great acting! They did a great job casting the actors. A shame they had a bad script to work with. The direction/cinematography was meh, okay until those shots at the airport/street. Those were awful! They seemed rush. Were they stealing location? I don't think so. But it felt like that.
Overall, I prefer the book, and felt bad for the author since they butchered her book.

Pickpick

Book #40
✅ Chapters Have Titles: Through My Window by Ariana Godoy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
New Author
It was good. I laughed SO HARD & LOVED the 1st half. Then, it all became too repetitive. This book is SUPER smutty, which I don't mind, BUT P. Douglas comes short. It became a little TOO MUCH. Almost every chapter had explicit content/scenes to the point you didn't care anymore. I already knew what they would do & say to each other. Good book, but unrealistic.

WJCintron Besides that, I really cared about the MC and how they were developed. Even the side characters. The story kept me reading, which is good. Hence the rating. Good book, but unrealistic. 2y
