Pickpick

Viv Groskop is a writer, stand-up comedian and presenter. In this useful book that‘s aimed at women and has plenty of practical tips and advice on how to give a presentation or speech, she uses examples of successful speakers like Michelle Obama to help the reader find their own style of speaking and give themselves confidence but constantly refers to TED talks so that readers will need to do further research to understand some of her points.

Finished this earlier today, and it was a really thought-provoking read. Each chapter looked at a different person‘s style and had tips and exercises to try to improve your own speaking. There are some bits I‘ll definitely try and it has made me think I definitely want to work on my style.

Really interested to read this book. I‘m at the start of a course at work all about being a better leader and manager and the workshop yesterday talked a lot about public speaking. I am a relatively confident speaker already, game to have a go if nothing else, so I think this might give me some tips and tricks to help me along the way!

Such a lovely gift to start off my exciting new job in publishing! I am not a confident speaker at all, so this is going to be so useful ☺️
