From the critically acclaimed author of Before I Die comes a remarkably affecting story of a girl who burns with anger for reasons she can't understand, and the power and risk that comes with making noise. Fans of E. Lockhart, Jennifer Niven, and Gayle Foreman will find their own fury in this exceptional novel for our times.

I am about halfway through Furious Thing, which I‘m loving so far, and THREE audiobook holds became available from the library! (Actually 4, but I delayed the other.) Choices, choices!

“I decided that the only way to survive is not to lose my ability to love. You know, despite the baddies.”

She blinked at me. “What does that mean?”

“It means that I will always love you and protect you.” I smiled at her. It felt like the truest thing I‘d ever said.

I really enjoyed this book despite the unhappy story it told. Lex is angry about many things in her life and doesn‘t seem to want or be able to conform to the behavior expected of a young girl - always be polite, be nice, tamp down your anger. While everyone tells her she shouldn‘t be angry, they all placate the anger of her manipulative, emotionally-abusive stepfather. A great look at how society views anger in women vs men‘s anger. 4⭐️ #hoopla
