Freaky Deaky
Freaky Deaky | Elmore Leonard
1 post | 4 read | 2 to read
On the New York Times bestseller list for 11 weeks, this explosive new novel by the author of Glitz spotlights an untamed group of Sixties rejects intent on bombing Detroit. Their seemingly fool-proof plot takes some foul turns as they try to keep the fires of revolution burning.

dabbe #1: How could I forget PSYCHO? The opening scene was filmed in Phoenix!
#2: Yes! 😱
#3: I read the book last Halloween and didn't find it nearly as scary as the movie. I think the visuals can really wreak havoc with your mind!

AmyG @dabbe I saw all these movies before I was 21. At the time they scared me but now I guess I am used to them. I watch them every year around Halloween. 8mo
TheLudicReader @dabbe @AmyG , so the story goes that John Carpenter made the movie and then showed his elderly aunt the film w/o the score. She was like, “yeah, it‘s good.” But not particularly scary. Then he wrote and added the music. She couldn‘t watch it - too freaked out. 😂 8mo
AmyG @TheLudicReader Yep…that music is quite creepy. I get it. 🤣 8mo
dabbe @TheLudicReader Interesting! Every year I rewatch the original, and then that song is in my head for the rest of the month. Another one with eerie music: THE EXORCIST. I just hear the opening, and chills run up my spine. 😱 8mo
