pickThis novel was my first experience of Joyce Porter . I loved it through and through.The book is hilariously funny and the deduction was pretty common place but the way the English Country side and its people were pictured in the narrative, I was almost watching the drama unfold in front of my eyes.
Came for the front cover, stayed for the bananas Sunday Times blurb! “He investigates the disappearance of a sixteen stone teenage nymphomaniac” … wow. 1964 literature at its best 😂.
Thanks to my mother in law for dropping this book round with a ton of others from her aunts house. What a treasure trove!
