The action really gets going when Mark goes into space to fight the Viltrumites, but the story repeats a cycle where Mark fights increasingly fierce foes, is badly wounded, and must recover, and the faces a new enemy.

Kirkman is really good at inventing characters. There's a huge cast and even the secondary and tertiary characters are compelling. The dialogue, however, tends to be a bit cliche.

Love the art style, I would say this collection is much more graphically violent than the first 48 odd issues, more akin to Kirkmans other work. Enjoyed flicking though it an issue at a time over a few weeks.
