All the Ways to Ruin a Rogue
All the Ways to Ruin a Rogue: The Debutante Files | Sophie Jordan
2 posts | 11 read | 8 to read
First friends, then enemies . . .Lady Aurelia hasn't always hated Max, Viscount Camden, her brother's best friend. In fact, as a besotted girl, she thrived under his kind attention— sure that he was the most noble and handsome man in the land. Until her young heart discovered what manner of rogue he really was. Now, though she enjoys nothing more than getting on his last nerve, she can't deny Max drives her to distraction— even if she tries to pretend otherwise. Now something more . . .Max cannot recall a time when Aurelia did not vex him. If she was not his friend's sister, he would stay far away from the infuriating vixen. Unfortunately, they are always thrown together. At parties and family gatherings . . . she is always there. Mocking him, tossing punch in his face, driving him mad . . . until one night, she goes too far and he retaliates in the only way he can: with a kiss that changes everything.

I'm looking for recent historical romance recommendations!

After years of reading barely any historical romances I am on a huge kick. I think I stopped reading them because I tumbled into the Kindle/self-pub contemporary rabbit hole where things often tended to be a bit steamier but most of my favorite romances are more related to the banter and non-physical interaction between the characters and good historicals do this part SO WELL.

AnnieReads I totally agree! Steamy is okay but I much prefer the fun banter and relationship development you often see in the historical romances. Julia Quinn is one of my favorites for fun romance. 7y
Christy2318 Julia Quinn The Bridgetons, Tessa Dare Spindle Cove series, Maya Rodale's Writing Girls series, Lisa Kleypas - Cold Hearted Rake, Marrying Winterborne, Eloisa James My American Duchess, Monica Burns Love's Revenge, Sophie Barnes How Miss Rutherford Got Her Groove Back, The Pink Carnation series by Lauren Willig 7y
nitalibrarian I would add historicals by Elizabeth Hoyt, Courtney Milan, and Julie Anne Long. 7y

MarriedtoMrT @Christy2318 Thank you! I'm reading Cold Hearted Rake right now and liking it and I've always meant to read the Lauren Willig series. 7y
MarriedtoMrT @nitalibrarian Thank you! This reminds me that I bought a Courtney Milan during an ebook sale by recommendation a year ago but haven't read it yet. I need to unearth it on my Kindle. 7y
MarriedtoMrT @AnnieReads I really like Julia Quinn as well! 7y
MariaC Sarah Maclean - all 3 of her series are excellent! I second Tessa Dare's Spindle Cove series and also Elizabeth Hoyt's Maiden Lane series. 7y
Chachic Have you read Joanna Bourne's books? I love that her historicals are spy stories. I've read one Tessa Dare and enjoyed it. A historical romance that's been in my wishlist for a while is Under the Sugar Sun, because it's set in the Philippines. The author isn't Filipino but she lived there for a while. 7y
AnnieReads @nitalibrarian I totally agree with Julie Anne Long. Her Pennyroyal Green series is so fun! 7y
annahenke Julie Klassen - great, clean romance! 7y

Pickpick

A well done friendship to hateship to loveship. I'm a sucker for a couple who circles around each other arguing passionately. #romantsy
