Pickpick

This is the latest pick for my art museum book club, and it was actually quite wonderful! Sargent has never really piqued my interest, but Erica truly wrote a biography of a painting. It read so smoothly, covering the history of the family, their relationship to Sargent, Sargent‘s background and works, the lives of the girls in the portrait after they‘d grown, and the journey of the painting beyond the sitters‘ lives. A delightful read!
