I read this because a friend recommended it to me. I didn't even read the back of the book before starting it, so I had no clue what it was about. I'm kind of glad I didn't have that information because it allowed me to be completely taken by surprise. It was an amazing story. It brought back that feeling during childhood when you are experiencing a fairytale for the first time. I plan to reread the book and check out the others by this author.

I remember buying this from a book fair in middle school. Do they even still have those? It's one of the books that started my love of fairy tale retelling. I'll still reread it if I need something short and sweet. In this case I read it during the Olympics when there was too much reporting and not enough sports lol.
