Official Guide to the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture | 
Home from a short trip to DC to visit with California family who were in the area for a few days. We did a night tour of the monuments and visited the African American History Museum for the first time (and bought the guidebook). I waved at the Supreme Court when we passed it in honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. I also got some good reading time on the train.
Wednesday was our first full day in D.C. and we started with a walk from the Hay Adams Hotel, past the White House, to the National Museum of African American History and Culture. It is an amazing museum - 7 floors of very moving exhibits. These are the books we got in the gift shop. #vacationshopping #bookhaul #dayfive #shopone I wanted a book on Emmitt Till, but neither of the two in the shop appealed to me, so I will have to go hunting locally.
