This will complete my reading of three plays from August Wilson's Century Cycle. This one is set in a Pittsburgh boarding house; August, 1911. I love being able to relate a time frame to a family member's lifetime. My Dad was born just the month before. My maternal grandmother was age 19. Her firstborn, my Mother, didn't come along until four years later. The talk of the steel industry also hits home. #CenturyCycle #StagePlay

August Wilson is my mythology. Joe Turner is a play about dealing with hardship and discrimination, about spirituality and its link to hope, about rediscovering truth and starting anew, about how to find yourself.
