On the Incarnation
On the Incarnation | Saint Athanasius
3 posts | 11 read | 2 to read
As one of history's most passionate defenders of Christian doctrine, Saint Athanasius is notable for his apologist essays and their substantial contribution to early Orthodox theology. As a bishop serving in fourth century Alexandria, Athanasius composed this essay in his early life and devoted it to a number of issues still debated by theologians today, including monotheism, spiritual salvation, and the divine nature of Jesus Christ.

An excellent set of arguments for the reality and importance of God becoming man. Absolutely beautiful and victorious in its mindset.

tournevis Why? 5y
quirkyreader @tournevis This book was written in a response to the Nicea(sp?) council and it was refuting the arguments by Arias. There is a lot of history behind this book. 5y
tournevis @quirkyreader I know what this book as about. Why would someone not doing theology or history of religion read is was my question. This book hurts! 5y
quirkyreader @tournevis I am one of those nerdy Biblical Scholars. And this book is also part of a reading program that I am doing this year. 5y
