When a skilled gamer gets recruited as a sniper in the war against a terrorist-produced pandemic, she discovers there's more than one enemy and more than one war. Three years after a series of terrorist attacks flooded the US with a lethal plague, society has changed radically. Sixteen year-old Jinxy James spends her days trapped at home - immersed in virtual reality, worrying about the plague and longing for freedom. Then she wins a war simulation game and is recruited into a top-secret organisation where talented teenagers are trained to become agents in the war on terror. Eager to escape her mother's over-protectiveness and to serve her country, Jinxy enlists and becomes an expert sniper of infected mutant rats. She's immediately drawn to Quinn O'Riley, a charming and subversive intelligence analyst who knows more about the new order of government and society than he is telling. Then a shocking revelation forces Jinxy to make an impossible decision, and she risks losing everything. Recoil is the first book in a Young Adult dystopian romance trilogy, and makes great reading for lovers of Rick Yancey (The Fifth Wave), Suzanne Collins (Hunger Games), and Veronica Roth (Divergent). BONUS CONTENT! Chapter one of Refuse (book 2 in the Recoil series) included in this version!

I found this series thanks to YA Book Stop on Facebook.

I loved this YA dystopian romance from the start, but each book on this trilogy is better than the one before! I flew through this series this week, and can't recommend it enough! Some compared this to titles like Divergent and The Hunger Games, but I thought this on was better. (And I loved THG !) I loved Quinn from the start, but the other characters really grew on me as well! #readharder

VanChocStrawberry I‘m in that group, too! I read and reviewed her YA romance—The Law of Tall Girls—it was good! 6y

The first book in this refitting series! The story follows sixteen-year-old Jinxy, who is brilliant at an online game, she, along with the rest of civilization is trapped in their homes as there was a lethal plague caused by a terrorist attack. This book grabbed me and showed me that there is always a new twist that can be added to Dystopian books

"Good luck, and may the best man win."
"Or woman," I said softly to his back.
He turned around and looked at me for a few seconds. Then he suddenly pulled down his mask, flashed me a manic from and said, "I stand corrected. May the best man - or woman - win."
