Pickpick

A chronicle of events from the daily life of the author, yet the goat plays a major role. True to the nature of the author, the light hearted narration, the seemingly simple conversations and observations which shroud deeper meanings stand out. It was interesting to get introduced to a wide array of characters with their diverse quirks, aspirations and expectations. The book portrays the down to earth strands of life. Excellent read.

From the book Pathummayude Aadu. This line gives me a nostalgic feeling reminding me of my ancestral home which I visited as a child.

"These are the human beings.
In addition to them there are other occupants. A few refugee cats, now belonging to mom who migrated here from somewhere. Thousands of rats in the attic, hiding there fearing the cats and the millions of crows on the trees. Also hundreds of chickens who act like the owners of this household. Their countless kids. The hawk on the tree eyeing them, waiting to snatch them. My home is always bustling with commotion. "

Aida_Nam The author's description of the occupants of his house, after listing out the human residents. 3y
