Aunt Dimity and the Duke
Aunt Dimity and the Duke | Nancy Atherton
Emma Porter is forty, fat, frumpy, and a passionate amateur gardener. When her longtime lover dumps her for a younger woman, Emma escapes the cloying sympathy of family and friends by setting out on a summer-long driving tour of England's glorious gardens. A Dimity-contrived coincidence brings her to Penford Hall, a sprawling Gothic mansion in Cornwall, where she finds a duke in search of a missing lantern with extraordinary powers. Suspecting there's more than one mystery to be solved at Penford Hall, Emma accepts the duke's invitation to stay on and restore the once glorious chapel garden to its former beauty. The dark rumors surrounding a rock star and the near-death of the duke's beautiful cousin confirm Emma's suspicions, and set her--with Aunt Dimity's ghostly guidance--on the path to Penford Hall's secrets and the pleasure of unexpected love.

The tagged was my favorite - a light, easy, and perfect cozy -
A close second was A Court of Thorns and Roses -
The two series are balancing each other out nicely for me! I'm looking forward to (and have started reading ) the next in both series.

Pickpick

I think these books are perfect cozy mysteries - Aunt Dimity helps people find what they really need (although she has passed on). In this case, under the guise of restoring a window, a garden and finding a lantern, she helps (with the aid of the Pym twins) Emma and Derek, and the Duke and Kate, find each other, and Peter and Nell find their childhood. All the characters are adorable. A fun, easy, good read.

Make a great day everyone 🙂

bthegood Book 2/19 #SeriesLove2024 and final book for the month of January #BookSpinBingo - seems as if my other current reads will carry over to February 🙂 @TheAromaofBooks @TheSpineView @Andrew65 - thanks for hosting. (edited) 3mo

Years ago I have read the first one in the series and have red one further into the series, not quite sure about this one yet I‘m 51% into it and I‘m intrigued but it‘s slow

That was a very fun read. Best cozy I've read in awhile. I really liked the characters, the mystery was twisty, and the setting was great.
