The Glorious Flight: Across the Channel With Louis Bleriot is a B PB and Caldecott winner written by Alice and Martin Provensen. The book tells the story of Louis Bleriot and his flight across the English channel on July 25th 1909, it shows his trials and tribulations leading up to what will become a glorious flight indeed. I would use this book in a RA or RT setting along with showing the class a few of my dad's model airplane collection.

JRone This book would be great for a read aloud. It has a lot of information in it so I think the lesson plan where they get to draw a picture would be super fun for them! 4y

Alice and Martin Provensen‘s “The Glorious Flight: Across the channel with Louis Bleriot” is a B picture book that won a Caldecott in 1984, and it would fit perfectly in a S lesson about aviation. Bleriot was a very determined French aviator who flew over the English Channel in 1909.
