Any Other Way: How Toronto Got Queer | Jane Farrow, John Lorinc, Tim McCaskell, Maureen Fitzgerald, Stephanie Chambers
1 post | 1 read | 2 to read
Toronto is home to multiple and thriving queer communities that reflect the intense diversity of the city itself, and Any Other Way is an eclectic history of how these groups have transformed Toronto since the 1960s. From pioneering activists to show-stopping parades, Any Other Way looks at how queer communities have gone from existing in the shadows to shaping our streets.

Pickpick

This was a fantastic collection about Toronto in all of it's diversity. It covers so much history - people, places, organizations, moments, feelings, events, actions. Some is problematic, but as a whole it gives so much context to my lovely city. Is Toronto truly a queer city? Some argue yes, in the conclusion, I side with those who say not, but this collection helps show us how we got here and how we keep moving forward to better and queerer.
