If you like stream of consciousness, this book is for you! I really liked it, reading this book is an experience, it's a journey in Iceland's past and present. It's presented as a thriller, but it's really not. If you like fast-paced book with action, you're really not the right readership for this book... I wrote a more detailed review on Instagram (@bookish.juju), if you want to know a little more with no spoilers

I had a very hard time getting into this one. An umsympathetic narrator and a storyline that meanders through strange blind alleys (e.g a long list of various ways that people have committed suicide in Öræfi) turned this into a DNF. Although this particular book was not up my alley, I hope to read more by him as I liked his writing. Imagine being served food you dislike prepated by a talented chef.
