What happens when an evil queen gets her hands on an ancient force of destruction? World domination, obviously. The seven kingdoms of Dreamside need a legendary hero. Instead, they'll have to settle for Cucumber, a nerdy magician who just wants to go to school. As destiny would have it, he and his way more heroic sister, Almond, must now seek the Dream Sword, the only weapon powerful enough to defeat Queen Cordelia's Nightmare Knight. Can these bunny siblings really save the world in its darkest hour?Sure, why not?Adapted from the popular webcomic series, Cucumber Quest, The Doughnut Kingdom is the first graphic novel of a clever, adorable, and hilarious four-volume heroic adventure that is sure to make you hungry for sweets and action.

Mehso-so

Loaned to me by a friend and a cute bedtime read. It was a neat take on some story elements, though I am not sure I am invested enough to continue on myself.

LibrarianRyan It‘s odd for sure and sometimes how the story is broken up is just ... humm 4y

This review is 4 book 3: the melody kingdom

3⭐️ Chapter 2 has just begun and we have left the Ripple Kingdom for the Melody Kingdom full of music and fun. The story gets a little convoluted as they have to fly over a wall, but they can't, and to pass the wall they are sent on a side quest to stop an evil villain who has been stealing people from the village. It‘s all over the place. It‘s fun, but not up to the standard of the previous editions.

Pickpick

This was an interesting graphic novel. I say interesting because the main character is named Cucumber and his sister is Almond. They are bunnies. Cuco wants to go to school and Almond wants a life of adventure. But Cuco is the boy so he must go out to save his father and their lands from evil doers. But Almond...she persisted...and is a heroine and daredevil for all to enjoy.

Panpan

This was a hard PAN for me. 👎 The cover art is what drew me in initially, with its old school comics/Japanese manga feel. The actual drawings inside the book kind of lost their luster for me. The story's concept seemed very unoriginal, while the actual storyline and character development came across extremely hokey and borderline awkward. I kind of felt like the author was trying too hard to be funny or cute, yet was just missing the mark. 😶
