This was challenging. Necessary story about all types of love, but so used to this narrative with an older male pursuer. The anxiety and naïveté of the main character was heartbreaking and difficult to encounter. Likely because it felt relatable. The abusive scenes likewise were deeply uncomfortable
Gotta be honest, I voted for this one because I grew up in Dalton. Dalton, Massachusetts. not Dalton, Maine, but aside from more Mooses and poutine, 1990 ME is pretty much 1990 Mass.
The writing is fabulous, which is what I‘ve come to expect from Europa Editions, and it‘s really taking me back to those pre-cell phone New England days. A yellow Walkman, even! I had one of those! 💛

Another winner from the #EuropaCollective which was not on my radar whatsoever. I saw this compared to Anne Tyler (love!) and Richard Russo (just finished Empire Falls) and I agree!
The Road to Dalton features a huge cast of characters who aren‘t without their flaws but are perfectly human. There‘s also tragedy and readers should check TWs. I loved it and looking forward to what others think!
Happy Pride Month! 🥳🎉❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩷
I decided to start this year's Pride Month out right by jumping right into Chuck Tingle's new book! 🤭

Happy Pride!!
The movie is THE RED VIOLIN and if you, like, Fletch, have never seen it, you should seek it out IMMEDIATELY. It‘s one of my faves.
I haven‘t watched it in ages, though the soundtrack‘s in my regular rotation. I should remedy that ASAP.
Today‘s plan: hang out with Saki and Jade while I binge-read this book, with which I am OBSESSED. It‘s so good I don‘t even want to break down WHY it‘s good. I just wanna screech about it and bounce up and down a lot and shout random keywords and maybe also emphasize how it‘s super fucking funny but also really emotional and THIS is how romcoms should be.
June‘s off to a great start.
