I am rarely captivated by the landscape of a story, but Mortal Engines was a book that I could not put down. I often contemplate the future, and after watching Star Wars the day before, this steampunk future was such a contrast and inventive in a whole new way.

This story continues the immersive world created by Markus Heitz. The characters grow a little darker but the story is full of adventure and fantastic creatures.
