This was the first book I read by Erdrich. She writes people so they read so real! I find this satisfying. Basically she describes reality with pure magic. It makes me weak in the literary knees. Erdrich's writing just grabbed my little heart and didn't let go. Love Love Medicine!

It's like a tell-all, but better because it's like almost every moment of his life as told in the book was pregnant with excitement and a little bit of magic. Also so many recipes inside! Several that I will be trying. If you've never had Kogi, you're definitely going to want to after reading this.

It was more than I expected (even from Louise Erdrich)! I Clean, yet complex...moving without sentimentality. My unexpected reaction? Tears at a couple points. So yes, it's rather emotional and so satisfying. Do I know these characters in real life? No, but I walked away feeling like they were real.
