A memoir of her Hollywood years and the making of movies, mary poppins and the sound of music, in detail. The lack of health and safety control on location was eye opening. The logistics of filming in erratic conditions shows a very unglamorous and often tough side of the film industry. She tells of a complex family life and is honest about how hard it was at times to manage it all. Well written and enjoyable.

Not a book I would have chosen for myself....it was selected for our book club....but I‘m glad I persevered to the end. No punctuation for speech made it a bit more difficult to grasp who was saying what but I got in to it after a couple of chapters. I found the relationships tedious at times and felt like closing the book but eventually felt more empathy for Frances. Bobbi was annoying with her ‘I‘m against everything‘ attitude.
