Borne: A Novel | Jeff VanderMeer

Pickpick

New book purchase! After reading Borne by Jeff VanderMeer, I desperately wanted to revisit the world of the Southern Reach. Borne is a slow-burn wade through a world thoroughly desecrated by artificial life forms. If you loved Annihilation or any of the Southern Reach books, you‘ll probably enjoy Borne just as much.

All the Crooked Saints | Maggie Stiefvater

Pickpick

It‘s been a while, but I‘m back, Litsy! I return with Stiefvater‘s first stand-alone novel since The Scorpio Races, and oh boy, what a solid entry into her list of hits. Stiefvater continues her reign as queen of magical realism with this story that reads and plays out like an early-morning dream. Slappin‘ a big old Recommend on this one!

Vengeance Road | Erin Bowman

Pickpick

Finished my first read of the summer: Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman! This novel is unlike any I've ever read before. The main protagonist Kate is refreshingly intelligent, a total badass, and completely stands apart from other YA heroines. Kate alone makes this book a worthwhile read, and her adventure is just as exciting as her stand-out personality. I definitely recommend! (Also this is my favorite book&bookmark combo I've ever made) 3.9/5 stars
