I am very drawn to well illustrated books & this one was no exception!
A story about two puppies switched at birth with a lesson that fitting in does not mean looking like everyone else & that who you are on the inside is far more important than what you are on the outside.

This is a fiction book. I would use this as a shared reading. Luna is a young girl in a family where she is the only one that needs glasses. Throughout the story she try's to hide her glasses. This is great for children that have glasses to give them a sense of confidence.

This is a fiction book. I love this book and believe everyone should have it in their class. This is a book to read aloud. Nikolai knows he wants to be a good person he just does not know how to be. He goes on a journey in search of answers. Nikolai comes across a turtle, heron, monkey and a dog who try to help him find his way.

This book is a RF. I would do RA. I love this book. I did an audio on this book last semester. Good for those transitioning into first grade. Penny is excited to start first grade with her friend by her side. The book goes through the worries and fear all kids go through starting a new grade.

This book is a HF. I would use it as a literature circle. Matt was left in the wilderness while waiting for his father to bring his family to a new settlement. While waiting Matt meets a chief. Matt has to make a big decision between joining the tribe or to wait for his dad to come back.

This is a Traditional Literature. I would use this for storytelling. Goldilocks seems to be a sweet little girl until they find out she is a girl that only cares about herself. She eats the bears food, breaks their chair and sleeps in their bed. Did she learn her lesson... that is left for interpretation.

This book is a nonfiction book. This story is about a girl and her family and how they helped end segregation in the state of California. It goes through the process and difficulties they went through to end the era of segregation. This would be a great CR.

This book is a biography. It tells about the life of Helen Keller and the struggles she went through being both blind and deaf. It tells how she was strong to overcome her handicaps and motivated others to do the same. This is a great IR.
