Street thug Riko has some serious issues—memories wiped, reputation tanked, girlfriend turned into a tech-fueled zombie. And the only people who can help are the mercenaries who think she screwed them over. In an apathetic society devoid of ethics or regulation, where fusing tech and flesh can mean a killing edge or a killer conversion, a massive conspiracy is unfolding that will alter the course of the human condition forever. With corporate meatheads on her ass and a necro-tech blight between her and salvation, Riko is going to have to fight meaner, work smarter, and push harder than she’s ever had to. And that’s just to make it through the day. File Under: Science Fiction

My 1st book for #QueerLitRead! It‘s a cyberpunk SF about a woman who has to go save her GF that‘s been turned into a tech-fuelled zombie! It‘s been described as violent & vulgar, which I fricking love!

Lame reading slump has been kicking my ass, to the point that I had to DNF all my current reads. Most of them were a bit paced, so I‘m hoping a fast-paced book w/in my favourite genre can help me out. Also going to stick to one book at a time & see if that makes a difference too.

My cousin rec‘d this. Apparently, it‘s vulgar, vicious, & badass w/a lesbian protagonist! Gonna keep my fingers crossed that it works!

Bailedbailed

I really wanted to like this book and I tried hard to stick with it, but I just couldn't finish. It is relentlessly violent and vulgar and it just wore me down. Maybe I'll try again in the future but for now I have to bail.

Pickpick

OMG OMG OMG now I understand why people I trust have been raving about this book!

We've got a protagonist who ain't educated, ain't concerned with quality of language, and kicks butt for a living. And then things get weird.

I was convinced to give this a try when protag was described as being not girly enough to be one of the girls, but not a guy, so not one of the guys, and I thought "it me!" So glad I read this, and hope for more.

Crass, violent, #cyberpunk action romp with a bisexual heroine? Sign me up!

Well...after a terrific opening, the next 100 pages or so moved by at a snail's pace. But just as I was about to declare "meh!", the momentum built and rarely let up. It has all the appeal of stumbling upon a grimy, sci-fi B movie at 2 AM.

I'd place it between 'so-so' (that early slog!) and 'pick' if there were such a rating. Definitely not for everyone.
