Mouse, Bird, Snake, Wolf | David Almond

The gods have created a world: they've built mountains, a sea and a sky and now their days are filled with naps (and tea and cake). That's until Harry, Sue and Ben begin to fill the gaps of the world with a mousy thing, a chirpy thing and a twisty legless thing.

#NewHogwartsAdventure Day 12: Accdg to Fats‘ review: 🐁 🦅#Snake 🐺 is a story where you will meet gods that have created an incomplete albeit beautiful world. Three children, bless their hearts, have decided to fill the gaps that the gods have left behind. Her full review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-6uE

I picked this one from the shelves because it is illustrated by Dave McKean and I love his stuff. Turns out the book is very good, too, although pretty dark. Three children living in a world which the gods have not bothered to finish making discover that they have the power within them to create creatures to fill the gaps. It starts out innocently enough, but when two of them create Wolf, things go a bit pear-shaped.

This was a fun little graphic novel fairy tale. It's a quick read-maybe half an hour-and leaves you wondering at the end.

This is a great little fairy tale graphic novel. It's a very quick read and I'm almost done. The illustrations are wonderful.
