so-so
I was really excited for this book. I enjoyed the first one so much, I was hoping for great things from this one. Sadly, it only partly delivered.
GingerAntics The running form suggestions in this book are quite useful and interesting. This is the first time anyone has suggested to me in all of my years playing running dominant sports that running is a pull exercise, not a push exercise. Maybe that was something covered in track or cross country, but I didn‘t get into running until we‘ll after high school and college athletics, so I missed it if it‘s there. 10mo
GingerAntics I would skip the diet nonsense that is the whole of the first chapter. It‘s just another way to sell a low carb diet when eating decent levels of carbs have been shown to fuel runners so much better in study after study. McDougall may feel good on his diet. It may work for him, but science says it won‘t work for 99% of runners/endurance athletes. 10mo
GingerAntics I hate to tell him, but the ultra marathoners he‘s so in love with all consume plenty of carbs (probably copious amounts by his definition). 10mo
GingerAntics I love that he wanted to make sure that every runner could see themselves on the cover of this book. I‘m disappointed that his own prejudice prevented that from actually happening. Can someone please introduce this man to one of the most badass ultramarathon runners (he does love those) that he‘s too set in his ways to notice or acknowledge: Mirna Valerio. 10mo
