The Museum of Rain
The Museum of Rain | Dave Eggers

Oisn Mahoney is an American Army vet in his 70s who is asked to lead a group of young grand-nieces and grand-nephews on a walk through the hills of California's Central Coast. Walking toward a setting sun, their destination is a place called The Museum of Rain, which may or may not still exist, and whose origin and meaning are elusive to all. In one of his most elegiac stories, Eggers gives us a beautiful testament to family, memory, and what we leave behind.

Oh my gosh! This was such a lovely little story! It‘s the right kind of charming. At a family reunion, a 70-something war vet takes the kiddos on an excursion to the Museum of Rain. He collected rain water on his travels & kept them in a clearing. Sometimes, we forget how something small can mean so much and bring so much joy. Do yourself a favor and read this. 📷: L.A. A charming short story about a man in his 70‘s tasked with entertaining the children during a family reunion. He takes them to “The Museum of Rain” which he thinks will have fallen into disrepair in his absence to discover something different has happened. A nice reminder that we can all find joy and beauty in life if we look for it, and that small things can turn into things with big meaning for others.

Kenyazero This sounds magical 🥰 2y
