3 posts | 4 read
Diana Quincy returns with the second novel in her Clandestine Affairs series featuring a steamy romance between a working class London bonesetter who is dangerously attracted to her mysterious noble client. A seduction that could ruin everything... Hanna Zaydan has fought to become Londons finest bonesetter, but her darkly appealing new patient threatens to destroy everything shes worked so hard for. The daughter of Arab merchants is slowly seduced by the former soldier even though shes smart enough to know Griff is after more than hell reveal. Whatever it is, the bonesetters growing desire for the man just might tempt her to give it to him. An attraction that cannot be denied... Rumors that he killed his own parents have followed Thomas Ellis, Viscount Griffin, practically since he was a boy. More than a decade after the tragedy, Griff receives a tip about his parents killer one that takes him straight to a captivating bonesetter. Griff is convinced Hanna is a fraud, but the dark-eyed beauty stirs deep feelings in him that he thought had perished along with his family. Hanna has a gift for fixing fractured people, but can she also mend a broken heart? More importantly, will Griff let her?

Mehso-so

I have to accept that Quincy is not for me. I love her diverse heroines. But, this is the second of her books I‘ve read, and like the first, the romance feels fake. There‘s no real chemistry between the leads and it takes itself too seriously. There‘s no humor, no banter, and no shenanigans-three things I have to have in an escapist read. I can see the right reader enjoying it - the writing is flowy and good. I‘m not the right reader.

I just discovered this author. Love her! Yummy romances. Picked it up with a Sophie Jordan new release at the library. It‘s a good week for reading.

A #netgalley arc I finished today. A viscount living with past trauma & a bonesetter who could help but also has to deal with aristocracy & medical men discrediting her. I loved the setting of this & a “fraud bonesetter” who is Arab. I loved the mystery storyline & also the family of Hanna. I think Quincy writes good tension while keeping the other storyline interesting. I‘d definitely pick up more from Quincy! #TheViscountMadeMeDoIt Out the 26th

Ash.on.the.line As I think about it though, I feel the title doesn‘t exactly fit the story, not a huge deal though. 3y
