Digitaler Minimalismus
Digitaler Minimalismus: Besser leben mit weniger Technologie | Cal Newport
5 posts | 2 read

Pickpick

It is a book every social media user should once read. The author tells how to avoid social media in the current period. Social media has become a constant source of distraction . The book is clear and easy to understand. It is thus highly recommended.

“And this can also be transferred to encounters. You can tell your friends that they will find you every Saturday from 11 a.m. on in your favorite café.

In the end, it doesn‘t matter what you do – as long as a real conversation comes out.”

⬆️⬆️⬆️ _This_ idea really pleases me. Although I am a bit concerned about my money when having breakfast out every week.

And it might not be too handy when all friends are scattered round the whole country.

I just wanted to allow you a quick glance on those two pins I took out of Germany is today‘s free book on Blinkist.

1️⃣ Reduce app, media, online time by telling all people that one is available for a phone chat from for example 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. each day.

Mehso-so

A firm and positive “meh” for this. With most of the advice given I am familiar. Other aspects of the concept, I wasn‘t even willing to consider – which obviously shows how deep I myself am stuck in that Internet thing.

Overall I liked the advice he gave on personal availability but I absolutely disagree on that high-quality leisure. I like my books, my Litsy, my now and then gaming and streaming. Why must everything be optimised nowadays❓😠

I‘m not sure if I‘m extremely clever or overcritical.

When I heard that mostly those born after 1985 and surely those born after 1995 are heavily affected by various media-addictions, I thought: “I‘m out.”

But you know I myself have already deleted social media because I experienced its negativity. 😂

I‘m already familiar with most of the advice he is giving. 😐 But what does it reveal about me that I listened to those blinks on my mobile❓
