so-soThis was...fine? It all felt Very Typical. Every character is a cardboard cutout of the Quintessential Middle Grade Novel. Plucky Young Girl Who Is Constantly Underestimated, Proper Grown Ups Who Are Either Absentminded Or Very Interested In Being Proper, etc. It was nice, but I wasn‘t riveted. I drifted in out of the story without feeling any attachment at all. Cute, mildly interesting, but not particularly new. 4th for #24in48. ★★★☆☆.

pickIf you ever want the satisfying adventure of running away to be a most fearsome and respected pirate, then this is your tale! I loved the world that was built, I adored the use of letters and gossip columns and what have I ever done without a good gargoyle? Truly a fun read! ✨🗡
Just finished rereading Carry On and I thought I might as well make a library run while I'm out! Absolutely adore the cover for Wild Robot, so I went with the theme! 🤖
This fresh fun author is coming out with an entirely new book in May. An homage to the great detectives. I am really looking forward to it!!
