August TBR plans mostly focused on #WITmonth aka Women In Translation month. So I've pulled all my translated fiction by women. I also signed up for Scribd, cause clearly I don't have enough books,😄 and I've lots of additional options.

July Stats 28 total books read including 5 audio, 6 chapbooks, and 4 graphic novels.

"My silence mingled with hers, wrapped around it, seemed almost to touch it, as if an unexpected hand had brushed against another in the dark, unable to say precisely to whom it belonged."

"My eyes fell on my empty glass, and it seemed to me, more than ever, that any situation could be redeemed by wine."

"[...]that beautiful night that shook the trees and awakened an urge to travel in the dining car of a train."

quote

People in the Room | Norah Lange

"And at that moment—as if everything had been prepared for me to attend this meeting with my appointed destiny—I saw them for the first time, began to watch them, and, as I watched them, slowly examining their three faces in a row, one barely more elevated than the others, it seemed to me that I held—like the suit of clubs in a game of cards—the pale clover of their faces fanned out in my hand."

"To me it always seemed necessary to watch a storm."

People in the Room | Norah Lange

"I could never bear to see a name written on a train window, an arrow-pierced heart carved deep into a tree trunk. Later everything changed, but in those days, so many things troubled me that the things to which I was most drawn became obsessions, like people who told of long illnesses, like freshly planed wood, black velvet."

The baking professor said my biscuits and my shortcake were both perfect, so I bought some ebooks to celebrate. People in the Room is up next.

Yay!! My #bookhaul from & other stories publishers finally got here from the UK. And they included a tote 😁👍

I will now go do something useful, like read 😁.

Emilymdxn I love And Other Stories so much!! They‘re probably my fave indie. So glad to have found another fan! I promise you the Iliac Crest is absolutely amazing. I‘m literally just about to start reading Tentacle myself (edited) 5y
mreads @Emilymdxn Good to hear, I'm excited as I've not read anything from them even my library dosen't have them but I've heard nothing but good things . Look forward to seeing what you think about Tentacle 5y
