Penny Dreadful: The Awakening Volume 1
Penny Dreadful: The Awakening Volume 1 | Chris King
5 posts | 4 read | 10 to read
Continuing the hit TV series! Six months after Vanessas death, Ethan and Sir Malcolm still struggle to move on. As an ill wind blows over London, it soon seems that Vanessas death was only the beginning and an even great danger is yet to come. The haunting story of the critically-acclaimed SHOWTIME TV series continues in this official sequel, written by the shows co-producer, Chris King, and beautifully illustrated by Jesus Hervas (Sons of Anarchy) and colorist Jason Wordie. Dark, menacing, delightfully detailed and unique. Graphic Policy A successor on par with Showtimes cult phenomenon. This comic picks up after the show's ending, and it reads like it could have been the beginning of another season (which means, what happened in the finale, sticks - if you have seen the show you know what I mean). Plus, the art is amazing. Unlike in some tie-in comics, you can recognize the characters. There's a negative point, but that's a spoiler and I will put it in a comment. On the whole I really enjoyed it and recommend it for fans!

PickwickPlockPlock On literally the last page, one of the main cast dies! Without them and without Vanessa, I don't know how much the next volume can feel like the show. 6y

Interesting to see how the story continues after the show‘s conclusion. Nice artwork. A lot of action. I recommend this to fellow Penny Dreadful fans. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Finally finished everything I had to do to free up my time for reading. Settled on the couch with my little reading buddy and getting started on the #24in48 with some Penny Dreadful.
