The book Sail Away, Little Boat is a P book about a little boy that makes a sail boat and the sail boat goes on a little journey and makes new friends. I would use this in my classroom for a dramatic reenactment and have all the students create their own little sail boats to have them sail away while we are reading our book. https://www.publishersweekly.com/978-1-57505-821-4

amyqualk this website gives you the option to buy the book and read the review. I would use UDL 4.1 vary the methods for response and navigation because they are making their own sail boats and ESOL 17provide contextual support through audio visuals, models, demonstrations, realia, body language and facial expressions so that they can understand as much as possible. It's a cute little story. I loved it. #ucflae3414f17 (edited) 7y
DrSpalding Expand a bit more on your UDL and EL strategies. The idea of making sailboats is one that you could connect to your science curriculum.⛵️ 7y
