The Beginner's Guide to Lyme Disease
The Beginner's Guide to Lyme Disease: Diagnosis and Treatment Made Simple | Nicola McFadzean Nd
2 posts | 1 read | 1 to read
CNN has reported that the number of Lyme disease cases in the United States has doubled since 1991. Caused by spiral-shaped bacteria known as Borrelia burgdorferi, Lyme disease is transmitted to humans by the bite of an infected tick. The disease is also typically accompanied by many related problems, including co-infections by other kinds of microorganisms, hormonal dysfunction, immune system dysregulation, and other related issues. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) now recognize Lyme disease as the fastest spreading vector-borne disease in the country, yet most practitioners of mainstream medicine are decades behind in recognizing and addressing this emerging health crisis. This comprehensive book is the first book of its kind to approach Lyme disease from the perspective of "beginners"-those doctors, patients and caregivers who are new to the topic of diagnosing and treating Lyme disease. Dr. Nicola McFadzean, a well-respected and experienced Lyme doctor, has woven together a complete guide to the treatment and management of Lyme disease. This beginner's guide contains clearly written, easy-to-understand information, reflecting Dr. McFadzean's knowledge and experience in both traditional and alternative medical paradigms. If you or a loved one were just diagnosed with Lyme disease, or if you are a caregiver or family member to someone with Lyme disease, this book should be your first stop. It will give you the tools and resources to get started on the journey back to health.

If you need a starting place for knowledge acquisitive on Lyme Disease, start here.

TommieMarie74 This recommendation/review is perfect timing. I deal with chronic illness and have a few “leftover” symptoms that don‘t go with my diagnosis but that could fit Lyme. I‘m trying to learn more and prepare myself for a talk with my doctor. Thank you!! 6y
AngieAvers TommieMarie74, Lyme is the bastard child of medicine. No one seems to understand it. We believe at least 1 of our 5 kids has had it, and me too. I was helped with a few months of treatment; she had several months of treatment before she saw any changes, went off the medication, and had to start it again. 6y

“...Lyme Disease, it is actually the fastest growing infectious disease, and the most common vector-born illness in the United States.”

Scurvygirl Ugh, just had every known blood test done for tick borne diseases a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully, all negative. 7y
ReadingGrrl Lucky - I was diagnosed a few weeks ago with Lyme - the only positive is that at least I now know why I‘ve been feeling so crappy - it really explains so much 7y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Lyme is the scourge. I've been positive for several years, and been through a shit ton of treatment. It did make a big difference, but it wasn't easy. I have a GR shelf with all of my Lyme-related books and reviews, if you're there. If not, I can post a link. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help. 💚💚 7y
