Mercy Watson: Something Wonky This Way Comes
Mercy Watson: Something Wonky This Way Comes | Kate DiCamillo
3 posts | 6 read
Features an audio read-along! Some may find it wonky to take a pig to the drive-in. But not the Watsons, who think the movies title, When Pigs Fly, is inspirational. And not their beloved Mercy, who is inspired by the scent of real butter from the theaters Bottomless Buckets of popcorn. As they pull up in their convertible, Mercy lifts up her snout and becomes a pig on a mission, leading a delirious chase thats trailed by hapless rescuers reunited from Mercys earlier adventures. Meant to be viewed on full-color devices only.

5⭐️ Definitely my favorite so far of the books in the Mercy series. While I like the Princess in Black short chapter series much better, this one is definitely sweet.

Zelma I‘ve only read some of DiCamillo‘s standalone books but loved them. 6y

This animal fantasy is a great option for younger kids to find joy in starting to read longer texts. As a fun, crazy, and easy to follow story for students to find a quick read or build their reading skills when approaching chapter books, I can see why this is a popular book among students in today's classrooms!
