I used to love this book and all of the illustrations when I was little. While it is such a great book, it also has such a meaningful message to children

so loved this book I think it was adorable. I like the lesson it taught. It taught me that you can take your time and not rush everything. I would defiantly read it to my students.

The Morality of Law | Lon Luvois Fuller
post image

“It has been said that most of the world‘s injustices are inflicted, not with the fists, but with the elbows. When we use our fists we use them for a definite purpose, and we are answerable to others and to ourselves for that purpose. Our elbows, we may comfortably suppose, trace a random pattern for which we are not responsible, even though our neighbor may be painfully aware that he is being systematically pushed from his seat.”

TuesdayReviews “A strong commitment to the principles of legality compels a ruler to answer to himself, not only for his fists, but for his elbows as well.” 3y

This TL book is a retelling by Teresa Mlawer of the famous folktale The Tortoise and the Hare. Like all folktale this a story passed down by storytelling throughout the generations. The Tortoise and the Hare give a entertaining story with a great moral. The moral being that with dedication and perseverance you can accomplish anything. A S goes along perfectly with this TL book and Scholastic haves helpful information on storytelling.

DrSpalding You blew us away with this presentation. Would you consider adding your video link so that Litsy subscribers can watch? It was so good and you were so creative! Excellent resource included. You are a natural storyteller and should continue to storytell during internship and beyond. 3y

Status Anxiety | Alain de Botton
post image

I‘m finally able to get past de Botton‘s structural foibles—the man drops pictures, diagrams, and numbers wherever he wants in a serious text—and am managing to understand and ponder his points!
This is as close to #philosophy as I think I‘ll get, ever since college put me off.

It‘s useful to think about how we attach #moral #merit to #economic status to #happiness, and how it‘s only been 250 years! I hope things evolve again, and soon.
