I haven‘t read much by Thoreau, but I did really enjoy this book. Passages from his journals were arranged on the page in verse form, and the result was really poetic and beautiful and, in places, soulful. There were pencil sketches scattered throughout the book too. I thought it was really well done and a good way to sample some of the nature entries in Thoreau‘s journals. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book is really something. I‘m glad I found it in the stacks at the library (months ago, before COVID-19), and I‘m doubly glad that I‘m actually finally getting around to reading it. I love this poem on #silence .
