One of the most memorable and affecting speculative novels I have ever had the pleasure to read. Piercy renders an incredibly appealing and idyllic future, contrasted with the life experiences of the main character, an older Latina woman in 20th century America. Is it real or is she insane? Read it!

Incredible story about a post-apocalyptic world in which humanity appears to have regressed to a medieval-style of society...but appearances can be deceiving. Very interesting concept, beautifully rendered. Tepper is one of the greatest women-focused sci-if writers I have ever read.

Atwood displays her incredible capacity to read events and extend them to a logical next step, as a country that was formerly the US is reduced to a toxic wasteland after launching a religious war, and the nation's women become slaves to the regime of righteous Christian leaders. Told by a handmaid.

Gorgeous second book in a proposed trilogy. Kvothe is a beautiful, magical figure who has become only a memory, replaced by an apparently humble inn keeper who prefers the name Kote. As Bast continues to hope for the return of his Reshi, evil magic is spreading and threatening to destroy the world.

The devastating conclusion to the trilogy. Impossible to put down, and impossible to comprehend the depth of Atwood's insight into the darkest parts of the human heart. This trilogy should be compulsory reading for anyone planning to live on Earth.

Beautiful and terrifying in equal measure, Margaret Atwood offers a taste of a possible and much nearer-future than anyone should feel comfortable with. It's impossible not to feel that our world would change quickly if only more people had read this book.

One of the best books I have ever read of any genre. Kvothe is an incredible character we learn about from the recollections of "Kote," the inn keeper, and an apparently broken man. Patrick Rothfuss is a magical writer whose words are always beautiful to read
