Down right adorable, I loved this and I loved Mack the most. Mack is my favorite character and I believe everyone should have a friend like him. Gavin and his wife‘s story was good and I loved it, but I looked forward more to the wit between Mack and Gavin. This book is a cute romance about a man swooning is wife all over again after learning she fakes it. This book is a cute telling of a man learning about women through romance books.

Liatrek Nice review! I‘ve been debating about getting this one but you sold me 😊 2w

This was so incredibly slow and the first half is so boring. I honestly was begging for just a slice of suspense or something to happen. The writing is great and the overall premise had me Intrigued.
I will say the last 1/4 of the book is what made this a solid 3.5 and saved the book for me. I didn‘t honestly expect any of that to be what happened at all. I was completely caught off guard and it was a shocker.

catiewithac I thought it was just me! I never made it past the first half because it was so boring 😄 3w

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The kiss quotient is about a high functioning autistic woman who works as an economist. She has succeeded in every part of her life except relationships. Her mother is constantly putting pressure on her to get married and have babies now that she has turned thirty.
Micheal a Vietnamese Swedish heartthrob is such a sweet and adorable character. He usually doesn‘t see a client more than the one time, so they don‘t get attached.

One of my absolute favorite young adult fantasy series. This was a fantastic read and good and bad. The city of full of horrible monsters all created from horrible human acts of violence. 4.5 ⭐️ this does center around the #metoo movement as there are several discussions of rape in this book.
I honestly didn‘t expect to love this one as much as I did but as you read the first few chapters everything unfolds so fast and the drama jumps out. I loved how Sarah didn‘t wait half the book to start the hack and drama, they jumped right out with it. One aspect I hated and this is why it wasn‘t five stars for me is it felt like a tv drama.

DNF
So I posted about this one a week or so ago, but sadly a dnf for me. I knew starting off it probably wasn‘t gonna be a great read but I started it anyway. Sadly I dnf‘d it. The mother‘s behavior is just super toxic and I can‘t stand it. Another issue I had was there were just pages describing her mother and her mother‘s cooking. Reviews had me excited for this one, but it was a huge let down

The Stand | Stephen King

Pickpick

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
This was chaotic, exhausting and so good. King had such a way of going through and explaining the disease and getting you so attached to the characters. Towards the end my anxiety was so high for these characters. The battle between good and evil was a primary plot in this book and king did it so well. There are a bunch of triggers for this and I list them and go into more detailed review on my blog. Link in bio.

Macnjen One of the scariest books he's written, in my opinion besides IT and Misery. 1mo
Mrsgarrisonreads @Macnjen yes, I wasn‘t scared scared, but my anxiety was through the roof for the characters. 4w

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely adored this book. It was such a perfect read. Daisy is an amazing character and takes no shit from anyone. Billy and her chemistry together doing music and just talking was so good. I hope eventually we get to see the songs come to life. I do also highly recommend the audiobook Over the physical because of the format. It‘s formatted in interviews and the audio is so much better.

Starting this one in between parts of the stand because it‘s so huge. I‘m only a few chapters in, but I‘m not digging the mother‘s behavior. She‘s putting so much on her 14 year old daughter that she shouldn‘t. I‘m also aware it‘s a memoir, buts it‘s so cringey what she has roped her daughter into.

I did enjoy this novel and it does a good job of showing guilt and how others may deal with grief differently. In Carver‘s instance, he has severe anxiety and panic attacks over feeling responsible for his friend‘s death. You see carver grow and make progress to heal and move on.

This book was absolutely amazing. the writing and overall story were so good I couldn‘t help but keep reading. It was so different than anything I have ever read. The best way I can describe it is faith/atheism/science and it was good.

There are also mentions of suicide in this book, but it does address it pretty well inmy opinion. If suicide isnot something you are comfortable reading aboutI would skip this book. #bookreview #yareads

The writing and the stories of all these people kept my attention because you get to see all of them grow and even the therapist seeing a therapist grew. The book went into detail about therapy and how we interact.
I learned to think things out before reacting.
Overall I give this one a 3.5 and please go into it in the right head space because there is talks of death, cancer, grief, suicide, depression and so much more. #bookreview #botm

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ this is my favorite book of 2019. Something amazing is gonna have to top this one. I knew very little about this book going in. The way Kristin writes is so atmospheric and beautiful. You genuinely feel trapped alongside Cora and Leni in Alaska. This book honestly blew me away and legitimately made me cry towards the end. I‘m still putting my heart and soul together after I finished reading it. #botm #bookreview #historicalfiction

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I absolutely adored this book. I think I like it better than the kiss quotient. Bride test was just perfect and steamy. I will say if you don‘t like graphic sex scenes then don‘t read this because some get descriptive. Khai was absolutely cute and that fact that he believed he didn‘t feel broke my heart. This is my favorite book for September and I‘m so happy I finally read it. #bookreview #botm #romanceread

I had such high hopes for this one and the first half of the story was amazing but the last two hours of the audioBook killed it for me. I was left in the mindset of why did I bother finishing it. Like I said the first half was amazing and the characters have such depth, but the second half crushed what was to be a 5 star read. The first book I‘ve ever seen my ocd represented in. I absolutely loved the representation as I felt like I was reading about my self and trying to find the magic off switch to turn off the thoughts. I just felt like I was reading two separate stories and thought it should be about her ocd or the disappearance and mystery.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hearts invisible furies is probably my second favorite book this year next to the great alone by Kristin Hannah. This book is slow, beautiful, heart wrenching, emotional roller coaster that will have you shocked, angry and crying at times. I loved this book and it will always hold a place on my shelf and Cyril my heart. I was happy towards the end with a little sadness. His story was amazing and beautiful.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is definitely a slow book and there‘s no action per say, but the writing and amount of culture you see and the way the author sucks you in. I absolutely adore this book and the amount of talk about curly hair 😱😍. Overall this is one that will go on my favorites list. This book had me go interested and wanting to know what happens to Emoni when she graduates? Will she go to college? Will she become a chef?

⭐️⭐️ I do want to say I appreciate the raw honesty in some of the characters flaws, but at the same time, some of the things they said about autism and disabilities were just….wow. So trigger warnings for that along with death, a child‘s death, suicide, sexual assault, PTSD. There several scenes that felt like they repeated over just from different points of view which I felt was really unnecessary. This book could have been shortened tremendously.

This is a magical realism and a Snow White rose red retelling. It is also LGBTQIAP as a character is genderqueer and the love story between this character and another is so beautiful.

All of their stories intertwine and create such a chaotic but heart wrenching situation for all of them. They are all fighting together and against themselves at the same time. Full review on blog, link in bio.

I made it to about chapter 8 and gave up 🤷🏻‍♀️. The writing and story were just 😬👎🏻. The Mc and his friends are suppose to be teenagers but yet they sound like adults to me. They don‘t act like any teen in the real world would. The sentence “homosexuality is a disease and aids is the cure” The Main character being underaged is having sex with grown men and I just..no no. I was really hoping I would enjoy this one, but sadly it‘s a no from me

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️The writing in this book is good and could have been better, but the story had me so hooked that I wanted to know more. I was so fascinated by the hivemind and how everything in this world worked. How Arden was tracking the person even though her memories where being erased. This book also had another aspect in it I loved and it deals with the second half so I won‘t give anything away. Essentially it was around whether or not we play god.

I honestly was so hoping to love this but I just can‘t get in to it. I think some parts just could have been left out and there is just so much sex and drinking which I‘m not into. The book is also so long including so much detail and background that honestly could have been skipped. I also have a huge problem with how easily she just lost her virginity like it was any other day of the week. CW - sex, excessive drinking, mentioned abuse.

marleed I was a fan of this book bu I do understand your feelings. I just finished a book in which I was enlightened by some history I hadn‘t known before. I wanted to stay in that history. The author introduced a fictional romance that to me was irrelevant to the historical fiction. The shiny tips on what could have been a 5* read just dropped off. 2mo
