It's just so tempting...
I did that once. I went to a Toastmaster's meeting to improve myself. Everyone had to give a speech without notes and without any time to practice. I stood in front a large crowd in a quiet room, cried for seven minutes, then walked off the stage. My audience supportively clapped for me, yet I knew they were just being nice. That night I felt really embarrassed, but now when I look back at what I did, I feel rather proud of myself.
As I was leaving the Lower East Side Pickle Day Festival, I came upon a modest looking bookstore. It didnt take very long for me to realize that it's also a radical activist center. I saw many books on topics like feminism and black studies. I've never seen anything quite like it. 📚😯
She spends most days in her pajamas? 🤔 She's living the dream.
I found this book to be a wonderful adaptation of the original story. As I was reading, it occurred to me that each character already possesses the thing they claim to lack. They only need someone to help them believe it. Perhaps we need to stop being our own worst critic and instead, find a new perspective of ourselves.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)
This book is about finding freedom through self acceptance. Some people wish to be like Tony Stark, Bruce Wayne, Bill Gates or Kim Kardashian. You can wear your costumes on Halloween, but eventually the mask has to come off. You are left with yourself; your TRUE self.
