Another great read by Lauren Denton that I recommend. Her writing flows while also being descriptive and entertaining. Her character development is good and she focuses on the relationships between sisters and also a husband and wife. Ms. Denton is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I also enjoy that she writes about places I am familiar with as she is from my home state and sets her stories in south Alabama.

Loved the book and story. Lauren Denton has a lyrical southern writing style that makes for such an enjoyable read. This is the second book I have read by her and recommend both. This was her debut novel and what an excellent start. It is about relationships, family, and how time, events, and changing perspectives can alter our lives and how we see and understand our loved ones. This would make a great vacation read or any other time too .

The Dogs of Christmas | W. Bruce Cameron
Mehso-so

Picked up this little book in the “Little Library” in my neighborhood while out walking my dogs with my Grandchildren. It is a pleasant enough read, especially about the dogs, but the main human characters were quirky and could have been more likable. Pleasant little story for light reading.

Very enjoyable book and writing style The book plot and setting have a basis in terms of actual WWII events but the characters are fictional. It dealt with some events about WWII which were new to me. Yona, the heroine, is an interesting and admirable character but not realistic. The ending seemed rather abrupt and left me with the feeling that several more chapters were needed. I want to read more from this author.

Rating 3.5 out of 5. Pleasant read, likable characters and interesting setting. It‘s akin to YA fiction. As a baby boomer,I grew up learning about WWII in detail from those that lived through it and fought in it, but this book dealt with it from a limited perspective. Grace , the young heroine demonstrates good character and strength. Enjoyed the themes of compassion, generosity, hard work, and “found family”. #BookSpin #DoubleSpin

PhyllisH Sounds like a good one 😊 3y

Ink and Shadows | Ellery Adams

Finished this 4th Book in Ellery Adams Secret, Book And Scone Society series. I enjoyed the interesting characters throughout. Some of the plot twists are a bit unbelievable but it is very entertaining. I was sad to end this series but my sadness was softened after I discovered that a 5th book in the series will be released in April 2022. I will look forward to that.

Started this book, which is the 4th and last in this series by Ellery Adams. These are quick and fun reads for me. They are a bit addictive, like eating potato chips. The charming main characters, their supportive friendship, and the intriguing mysteries they solve make for a fun read that you don‘t want to end.

LeslieO I just read the first one. What a fun series! Looking forward to more. 3y

Currently reading. This is the 3rd book in this four part series. This series is relaxing and enjoyable with some amateur sleuths solving the mysteries..

It is a light and fun read. I look forward to the next book in the series. It held my interest and I enjoyed the slow development of the characters who at first seemed rather cliche.
