This was a fun, if somewhat predictable read. Suicide is involved at the beginning, but after that, it was an uplifting story that was a fairly quick read.

A good mystery that takes place around Yellowstone- which leads to good imagery. Not as good as The River or The Dog Stars but still entertaining. I also loved the lead character, she was unique and tough.

BookNAround I liked this one and keep waiting to hear he revisits the main character in another book. 1y
AshleyC816 @BookNAround I know! I‘m hoping he‘ll do one about finding her daughter. Fingers crossed- I could see this becoming a series too. 1y

This was a fun, fast paced mystery. I flew right through it! It is the start of a series though, so there is a mystery that doesn‘t get solved in this book, so I‘ll have to wait until the next in the series comes out.

I wanted to like this one a lot more than I did, because I loved Station Eleven. But I never really cared about any of the characters and the few times I did start to get attached, they would get dropped for a new connected and I never felt like I got the closure I wanted. I do think I was biased because I liked SE so much, this one couldn‘t compare.

readordierachel Love this photo! I've been putting off reading the book for just that reason: loved SE and am worried it won't compare. 1y

This was intense, and not for those with an low gag reflex! In a society where a chosen woman hears confessions of the dying and has to eat the food representing each associated sin upon their death.
