pickThis is one of those books that ruins the dreams and silly ideas you have in your head regarding if you had made different choices in life. Specifically, it shows the many ways in which being a park ranger is frustrating and at times even traumatic. The book started off as a series of stories conveying how hard the ranger life is. As it progressed, it focused more on the lives of two specific rangers with results both tragic and touching. 4/5
pickAndrea Lankford worked as a park ranger for a decade and details here some of her experiences. This is basically the nonfiction accompaniment to Nevada Bart‘s Anna Pigeon books. I really liked this, though be aware there are some brief but frank descriptions of traumatic injuries and deaths.

2. A full rainbow and National Parks. My first full rainbow was in Yellowstone National Park. 💚

1. Many years ago, my grandmother took a winter trip through Yosemite where they rode big transport buses on the cleared roads in the park. I guess they stayed in the lodges at night? Anyway, it sounded like a fun winter vacation.

I admit I was confused in the beginning and had to reread the opening section. Told in 3 timelines of three generations of mothers. Dysfunction would be putting it lightly!! Great title too.
