I‘m over halfway through and I can‘t decide how I feel. I‘ve invested enough time that I feel like I *should* finish it. Those who have read it - is it worth finishing?

ugh, I am really struggling with this book. I don't really like the writing, I am having a hard time staying in the story and it feels over created (if that makes any sense). Anyone else struggle with this book?? #currentlyreading #strugglingtofinish #botm

mklong Absolutely. There was some beautiful writing, but there was also a lot of trying to be beautiful writing. It loses so much when I can see the effort 7y

[DELETED] 1409720085 Yes. I really did not like it. It felt like the author was trying so hard to have a "style" and it didn't seem authentic to me. 7y

asiriusreader I struggled with it too!🙋 I did not enjoy the forced style of the author (totally agree with you @emilydecato !) and I just didn't care for the characters or story at all 7y

Jess7 I shrugged with it until I go about half way or so. Then I ended up liking it but I had to let go of the fact that it‘s not Helter skelter. Sometimes I have trouble with historical fiction or books loosely based on events bc they rarely hold true to what actually happened. That being said, I liked this one 7y
