Pickpick

Listened to this for the last half at quicker speed to get to Lincoln in the Bardo. A pick but not my favorite I'd say. I actually think I'd enjoy it more in print as I kept getting distracted. Also not a fan for ridiculous love stories. But I loved the setting for both place and time. Kudos to Hoffman for tackling labor issues and feminism.

Donna_sBookMinute I posted about #speedlistening just yesterday. It's a combination of wanting to know what happens and starting the next book. 7y
Alicia @Donna_sBookMinute that's what made me think of this post 😃 this was definitely wanting to get to the next book! 7y

Ever speed up an audiobook to hurry up and get to the end? As long as I can follow along ... Actually the plot is becoming more intense; so I might have to go back to regular speed. #speedlistening

BookishMarginalia I listen at 1.5 speed. 2x is still too fast (wish Audible had a 1.75 speed!) 7y
Rachael_reads Yes, some people speed read, but I speed listen. 7y
Dolly Depends on the book and it's due date 7y
Donna_sBookMinute @BookishMarginalia -- Normally 2 would be too fast. But I tried it with this one; and it's okay for a brief period. I don't think I'd go any faster though. Plus the narrator has perfect diction and I think that helps. @Rachel_reads -- #speedlistening is a skill! @Dolly -- very true for library books. You can't always renew. Then you're stuck until next time it comes around. 7y
