Starting this one today or tonight! Years ago, I read a few of her Rei Shimura books and liked them. Hoping this new series is just as good. I‘m also curious to know more about the time period of Bombay/Mumbai history, after reading Shantaram last year.

Carolyn11215 I loved this one!! 5y
Amandajoy Interesting comparison between those two books. My book club is reading this one (my pick because of all the awesome things I‘ve seen on Litsy 😉) in June & Shantaran in October. 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @Amandajoy So it‘s not just me! Shantaram is a long book for a book club. But it‘s really good! 5y
minkyb I enjoyed this but was less enthusiastic then some (a couple of plot points took up too much time for me. ) I am especially curious to see how the character develops in the second book. The environment:atmosphere is wonderful. 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @minkyb Thanks for the heads up on those plot points. Ends up that I‘m putting this aside momentarily to read an ARC. I got asked to blurb it and it needs to be done ASAP. 😎 5y
WanderingBookaneer I read this one last month. It was eye-opening. I hadn‘t even considered it for that prompt! 🤦🏻‍♀️ 5y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @WanderingBookaneer Eye-opening in a good way? I hope so. Glad to help you ✔️ off another prompt! 🤪 5y
