A group of boys keeps a scorecard about who touches girls the most. Nobody believes her or really cares. She doesn't want to bother her mom with her issues, so she keeps her thoughts inside. She learns karate, and that becomes her outlet. Illuminates issues of problems in today's world that will probably never go away. The characters are convincing and credible. The story can help talk about things that are hard to talk about.

A cute story about how a child is finally able to embrace their true identity and how his family accepts him and loves him regardless.

This is the only kata book I have the time and stamina for, but I prefer 3 of the Heian katas over all of the others: Heian Nidan, Heian yondan, and Heain Godan. These require lots of repetition to master, so I don‘t have the time for the other katas. I loved those katas, but disliked Heian Shodan, and Heian Sandan. If I had the time I would practice those and bruce lee combinations. Tekki shodan looks really cool though.

JohnLAndBenji ^continued but I‘ll never be able to pull off fighting two people at the exact same time. 12mo

Best Karate, Vol.3: Kumite 1 | Masatoshi Nakayama

The author is a 9th degree black belt. This is probably my favorite best karate book from the series. You get to see black belts spar each other with commentary and learn strategy. There are also techniques that you learn from this book including advanced ones. These photos are not from standing still. They are photos taken in a split second before smartphones! It was awesome!

Don‘t look at his martial art system and say he‘s violent. He preaches and practices that karate is strictly for defense. He was considered to be the unofficial world champion by many karate students, and he‘s just as good at with emotional intelligence. They retired the black gi out of respect for him. His autobiography will show you who he was, and it‘s something that every karate student should read

Zoweee! I couldn‘t put this down! Teresa can read your memories. If that isn‘t scary enough, her father uses this to get ahead in the mafia. Mandak helps her escape, but he has plans of his own.

The Martial Arts Book | Laura Scandiffio, Nicolas Debon

The martial arts book. as someone who would like to learn a martial art this book was very useful. This book wasn‘t a story, it was more like a documentary it talks about the history and the birth or how martial arts started everything you need to know before practicing a martial art. it was great and appreciated how they included different martial arts in this book such as Muay Thai, Taekwondo, Boxing, Judo, Wing Chun, karate, kungfu ect.

M Nakayama is not a random teacher. He was 9th degree blackbelt! Most of this book is about white to green, or at most purple belt, techniques with applications followed by combinations with those techniques. If karate is new for you and you can‘t take classes, then this is the next best thing, and he also writes kata books in his best karate series, in which the Heian katas (minus heian sandan, which he did‘t make) will be most helpful.

A great kids book about a boy who sees monsters EVERYWHERE and finds a very creative way to scare them off and keep them from bothering him.

+6 for #scarathlon2020 #TeamHarkness @StayCurious

StayCurious This seems like a team theme book so it‘d be worth 15! You might have more points! 4y
